A Ding-Type Green-Glazed Cizhou Bowl of N. Song Dynasty






Description: A green-glazed Cizhou bowl was exquisitely mold in a type of the famous Ding ware.
Thinly mold, the bowl was decorated in the cavetto with vibrant image of swans swimming in the lotus pond.
As delicate as the precious Ding ware, the bowl was finely made by the excellent craftsmanship of the potters.
That made the ware a sought-after piece.
In a fragile form, the bowl was preserved in a very good condition, despite minor defects were found at the foot ring when charming crackles were spread immensely in the glaze. That added more of the beauty of this aged and precious bowl.
It was obvious for authentication too when burial incursions were happened to the surface especially on the ridges of the motifs, amid with the adhesives of burial earth.
(The adhesives will be easy cleaned off by professional method)
That also make it one of the kind, museum piece too.
